Parents & Friends
The Good Counsel College Parents and Friends (P&F) Association places great emphasis on parent engagement and recognises its significance in promoting a successful educational journey for students.
Parents play a vital role in their child’s development, and their active involvement positively impacts academic performance, social-emotional well-being, and overall educational experience.
To foster meaningful parent engagement, the association provides various opportunities for parents to actively participate in their child’s education. This includes hosting informative sessions, workshops, and guest speaker events on relevant topics such as education, student development, and parenting. These sessions serve as platforms for parents to connect, learn, and contribute their insights. By attending these events, parents can enhance their knowledge, gain valuable insights, and exchange experiences with other parents in a supportive and collaborative environment.
The association extends a warm invitation to all parents to join in our commitment to meaningful parent engagement. By actively participating and sharing thoughts and ideas, you become an integral part of creating a vibrant learning community for students.
The committee meets once a term in weeks 5 or 6 between 8am and 9am on Thursday morning in the Administration Boardroom. Notifications of upcoming meetings will be sent to all families via SMS and Facebook and are on the college calendar.
If you are unable to attend meetings and would like to stay informed about P&F news and events, please contact the college to register for committee email correspondence.
The President’s Report below provides a detailed overview of the good works provided by our dedicated P&F for the betterment of the college and students.
We acknowledge the First Nations peoples of Australia, the traditional custodians of the land, seas, skies and waterways on which we reside, work, travel and meet. We pay our respect to First Nations elders past, present, and emerging, and support the Uluru Statement From The Heart. We acknowledge that the land, seas, skies and waterways of Australia were, are and always will be, that of the First Nations peoples.
