Work Experience
The provision of Work Experience enables students to develop appropriate knowledge, skills and attitudes concerning both paid and unpaid work.
It is also an opportunity to extend the theoretical learning of the classroom into the practical applications of the workplace. At Good Counsel College, Work Experience is an integral part of the college curriculum.
Participation in the program is compulsory for Year 10 and optional for Year 11 and 12 students. Students can be placed outside of Innisfail if arrangements can be made, however local employers provide the majority of placements.
Parents are invited to discuss any matters relating to Work Experience with the Pathways Leader.
We acknowledge the First Nations peoples of Australia, the traditional custodians of the land, seas, skies and waterways on which we reside, work, travel and meet. We pay our respect to First Nations elders past, present, and emerging, and support the Uluru Statement From The Heart. We acknowledge that the land, seas, skies and waterways of Australia were, are and always will be, that of the First Nations peoples.
